In addition, here is some helpful information I learned this week. Have you ever tried to print a coupon (this almost always happens to me when it is a www.bricks.coupons...) and it says "please wait" but never prints your coupon? I would then have to close Firefox and open Internet Explorer and then it would print. Well, here's a much shorter way:

Print a $1.25/1 coupon for Pillsbury Peanut Butter Simply Refrigerated Cookie Dough. The coupon does specify the peanut butter variety. The reason this line is called "simply", is that it doesn't contain high fructose corn syrup. This might be a good coupon to hang on to for Super Doubles, or to check out a sale in Walmart.

Here are the best deals that I see at Safeway for the week of 11/04-11/10. My Safeway doubles coupons with a face value up to $.99. My experience with e-coupons has been inconsistent. Some matchups below have both cellfire and shortcuts e-coupons listed. There have been times that only one has been deducted, and other times both have come off. I'm not sure why....

Safeway has a "Home for the Holidays" promotion from today through 11/29. For every $25 dollars you spend in a single transaction (before coupons), you will receive a $5 on your next order coupon.

Through Saturday, Walgreens has Almay Bright Eyes cosmetics on sale for $8.99 BOGO. Use (2) $1/1 coupons from SS 8/02 or 9/13 AND $3/1 coupon from Walgreens October coupon booklet (should be located with sales ad when you walk in the door). The Walgreens coupon will deduct $3 for each item you buy, but you only have to use one. This makes the final price for two just $.49 each!

**Note that since you are using three coupons and getting only 2 items, you would need to throw in a small filler item.

If you did not get the chance to print the $5/1 Zantac coupons, they have been reset so you should now be able to print them. This coupon would make Zantac free at Walmart, but it is also a moneymaker this week at Rite Aid or Walgreens! Both stores have it priced at $8.99, with a SCR at Rite Aid for $8.99 and a RR at Walgreens for $8.99.

There are $1/1 Chex Mix coupons available. These are Target coupons, and reportedly you can find a small bag by the registers for $.99 and get them for free. I have not seen these yet, so I did not post them myself.

If you take your Walgreens ad to Target this week, though, you can get a larger bag for free! Walgreens has the 5.5 or 8.75 oz. bags listed at 2/$3 this week. Use the Target $1/1 coupon with the $.50/1 coupons from RP 9/13 and 10/4 or printable $.50/1 here

When I did a price match, I went to customer service and it went through without a problem. I asked if it was ok to do a price match in the regular line, and was told that as long as the cashier knew how to do it that was fine.

Baking Day

I have read about some of the moms who bake/prepare meals for the whole month in just one day. I'm not quite that adventurous yet, but hope to get more organized with meal planning and organizing. I was planning on having a baking day last Friday, but my littlest one was sick, so that didn't work out as planned. We had a whole bunch of apples from our trip to the orchard, and also a HUGE zuchini from my neighbor's garden, so yesterday I decided it was time to use up some of these ingredients.

First, I got some homemade applesauce started in the crockpot. This was a super simple recipe given to me by a friend: 3-4 lbs peeled, cored, and quartered apples, 4 strips of lemon peel, juice of 1 lemon, 3 inches of cinnamon stick, 1/4 c brown sugar, up to 1/4 c white sugar, 1 c water, 1/2 tsp salt, put all in the crockpot on high and let them cook down, stirring occasionally. I used a masher at the very end to break up some of the bigger chunks.

This left a bowl of apple skins that I really didn't want to throw away. The skin is the best part! I spread them out on a baking sheet, sprinkled with cinnamon, and put them in the oven on the lowest setting. My hope was that they would turn out something like dried apples.

I left them in for around three hours, and they ended up looking kind of like potpourri.

But they tasted good! Yes, I ate all of them...

My last project was to use up some of the huge zuchini we received. I made two loaves of zuchini bread, and only used about 1/3 of the zuchini! Here's the recipe for the bread: 3 eggs, 2 c sugar, 2 c peeled, grated zuchini, 1 tsp cinnamon, 1 tsp baking soda, 1/4 tsp baking powder, 3 c flour, 1 c oil, 1 tsp vanilla, 1 tsp salt. Cream eggs, sugar, vanilla, and oil together. Mix dry ingredients, then blend wet ingredients in together. Stir in zuchini. Pour into a greased loaf pan, and bake at 350 for 60-70 minutes.

By now, the applesauce was finished, so I of course had to taste that too. It was excellent! I think I need another trip to the orchard, because I plan to use the last of my apples for a pie. I definitely want to make another batch of this applesauce.

I don't have a freezer full of meals for the next month, but I really did enjoy tackling a few projects all at once. I hope to add more the next time! Do you cook your meals ahead of time? Baked anything you want to share about? Please leave a comment!

My own family is not feeling very well, and I picked up some of this homeopathic over-the-counter medicine last night. Just wanted to share that you can print a $2/1 oscillococcinum coupon for the adult or child product. You are supposed to take this as soon as you feel the onset of flu-like symptoms. In addition to this manufacturer's coupon, there are also Walgreens and CVS coupons to combine with them. There is a Walgreens pharmacy coupon book, located at the table in front of the pharmacy. This has a coupon for $1/1 in it. At CVS, you can find a $2/1 coupon in the $100 coupon book I told you about here. This stuff is expensive, but supposedly it works!

New Rite Aid Video Values coupons

There will be a new Rite Aid Video Values Program starting on October 1st. Just like last month, you will earn credits for watching short video clips and will be able to print a $5/$20 coupon once you have earned enough credits. You will only be able to print one of these, but there will also be other coupons available again too. You will be able to print these individually, instead of having to print out the whole set of them. Any coupons you did not print during September should also still be available to you!

On our way to the library today, we stopped at CVS because we were in desperate need of Pull-ups. I try to combine trips whenever possible, because if I'm wasting time running all over the place, then couponing doesn't really make sense! I was hoping to use the $5/$25 coupon that I told you about, but they were out of two of the items that I wanted, so I had to improvise....with two kids, at lunchtime! Here is what I ended up with:

**This is an example of why I try to accumulate a lot of ECBs, even if it sometimes means buying things I don't need. Even after spending $9.98 in ECBs, I have a $6.99 ECB left to use for my next deal. I didn't earn any ECBs for this, but when my ECBs get high, I will typically use them for pull-ups, paper towels, or toilet paper.

If you happen to stop by Aldi, check the refrigerated section in the back. I just found bags of Little Salad Bar salad mix (iceberg lettuce, shredded carrots, cabbage) marked down to $.49. The sell by date on these is 9/29, so you can grab a few and not worry about them going bad. I love finding good deals on produce!
